Hello and welcome to our site and our attempt to democratize music.

What do we mean by democratize music? Well, in our opinion, major labels, radio stations, and TV channels have been the only ones with the power to decide the artists and genres that get heard.

By democratizing music we hope to accomplish two things; firstly, help music lovers find and listen to new and exciting music easily and conveniently without the intervention of corporations. To do this we give every user the right to either vote up or down each song. Naturally the favoured songs will rise to the top of our charts and will be heard by more people. Songs will not be ranked purely on total votes, but on votes over time, so the longer a song is in a high position the more votes it requires to stay there. This will cause a high turnover rate and new songs will be able to rise to the top and be heard.

Our second goal is to help artists get heard by generating free publicity and hopefully a strong fan base. With recording becoming much less expensive due to digital technology, artists no longer require the backing of a label to finance a record. Similarly, with the internet beginning to overtake the traditional brick and mortar record store, artists will also not require the labels' help to promote and distribute their material. So that is where we come in and allow artists to upload their creations for all to hear.
